The Portage Area Musky Club was founded in 1985. 1986 was its first year of fish production. The Club's objective is to enhance Musky fishing opportunities in southern Wisconsin. Permission was given to utilize the abandoned Portage Sewer Treatment Plant, and it was converted into a fish rearing facility. Over the last 20 years the Club has produced over 122,000 fall fingerling muskies valued at $1.1 million @ $1/inch and 44,000 extended growth walleye.
